Travel packs

We offer this travel packs with the intention that you travel to different tourist places in Peru and learn more about our country and its culture. Also note that these packs are prepared by us after analyzing and deciding which routes are the most ideal

 

Travel

The trips are made on buses specially hired for the trip but they do not belong to us, therefore we can’t arrange re-schedule in departures or arrivals if the bus service providers do not allow it. Security within the bus will depend entirely on you; do not leave your belongings neglected. You may travel with different tourists so getting along is a must, wear headphones if you listen to music on an electronic device so you may not inconvenience other passengers.

 

Tour guide

The tour guides are elected to serve as a translator and will receive all your inquiries. They will also explain more about the history of the sites you’ll visit. In addition, the guide will tell you where you are going next, recommendations, precautions, the weather you should expect food you should try, among other things. See the guide as a friend who is explaining the trip during the tour.

 

Food

Peruvian cuisine is based on tubers, rice, beans prepared with vegetables, beef, pork, lamb, poultry such as ducks and chickens, among others. The food in the hotels depends on the hotels and their current menu. In some places you will not find a vegetarian alternative restaurants travel routes, however some menus dishes without meat upon request.

 

Weather

Peru weather on the coast is constantly changing, so it is recommended to take clothes for cold weather even if there is still sunny, a jacket is enough. The climate of the Peruvian highlands is cooler so bring warmer clothes. Furthermore, Cusco is over 2400 meters above sea level so it’s a city with waves of cold weather. Remember that your tour guide will tell you what kind of climate to expect.

 

Altitude sickness

Altitude sickness and other occurrences may occur during the trip; we recommend you to prepare and listen to the recommendations of the guide in order to avoid them. For more information and how to avoid altitude sickness, please consult a doctor before taking the trip.

 

Travel insurance

You must have travel insurance in order to travel. Whether traveling alone or in a group, you will be asked for proof or papers of your travel insurance, which will be checked and noted by the travel guide when you arrive. Keep in mind when choosing a travel insurance policy that it should include a full health coverage and insurance money for repatriation or emergency rescue. This policy should also cover personal liability, cancellation, reduction or loss of baggage and personal effects. For insurance on your credit card, contact your bank for details of your insurance company, the level of coverage and an emergency contact phone number.

BOOKING CONDITIONS

Our mission is to promote travel to Peru through guided, professional tours to ensure you experience the rich, diverse culture of Peru and are based the below conditions between travel2machupicchu (“The Company”) and you (“Traveler”):

  1. RESERVATION CONFIRMATION

1.1 On receipt of your deposit The Company will reserve a spot for you on your selected tour(s). A contract is only made between you and The Company upon your booking being confirmed and accepted by The Company, the communication thereof to you and receipt of your deposit.

1.2 It is your responsibility to have a valid passport required for travel to Peru as well as any necessary vaccinations and to comply with all applicable laws. We are not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of failing to obtain necessary visas. Any costs whatsoever regarding obtaining, replacing or changing visas whilst on a trip (including accommodation, meals, flights and transfers incurred due to associated delays) are at your own expense.

 

  1. PRICE GUARANTEE

2.1 Prices are based on tour costs as of June 1, 2016.

2.2 Prices are per person and are in US Dollars unless otherwise specified and are calculated based on the exchange rate on the day that the booking is confirmed.

2.3 Airfares to and from Peru, Peruvian domestic flights, airport taxes, passport and visa fees, insurance, laundry, phone calls, beverages, meals not detailed in the itinerary, tips to local guides, items of a personal nature, excess baggage, optional excursions are not included.

 

  1. BOOKING & PAYING

3.1 In order to reserve your package(s), you will be required to pay a 50% deposit of the total cost of your package(s) at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the start of your tour.

3.2 In the case of late bookings made within 30 days of the start of your tour, the full cost of the vacation will be payable immediately on booking.

3.3 Payments will be accepted by certified cheque or e-transfers.

 

  1. CANCELLATON & CHANGE POLICY

4.1 The Company reserves the right to change or cancel your booking in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond our control.

4.2 If you cancel more than 30 days prior to the start of your tour, you will not be refunded your 50% deposit nor can it be credited to any other booking. No further payments will be required by you.

4.3 If you cancel your trip 30 days or less prior to the start of your tour no refunds will be paid.

4.4 If a cancellation or change is made by The Company due to force majeure (i.e. circumstances like political unrest, war or threat of war, riots, civil strife, closure of airports or ports, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural and nuclear disasters, fire, epidemic or health risk, Acts of God, adverse weather conditions or other similar events beyond our control) we will give a full refund of any monies paid to us less any non-refundable pre-booked expenses incurred by us in respect of your booking (i.e. Inca Rail)

4.5 The Company is not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to cancellations or rescheduling of any trip departure.

4.6 If after your booking has been confirmed, you wish to change to an alternate departure date of any available tour, you may do so subject to availability.  If there is no availability, no refunds will be paid.

4.7 A name change to a different person will be treated as a cancellation.

 

  1. ILLNESS OR ABSENTEEISM

5.1 In the event of your withdrawal from a vacation after the commencement as a result of illness, you must obtain a medical certificate in support of any insurance claim. No refunds will be made for any absence from the trip.

 

  1. WEATHER CONDITIONS

6.1 Under no circumstances can The Company be held responsible for weather conditions, nor can any vacation be cancelled or amended by you at any time on the basis of weather conditions.

 

  1. INSURANCE

7.1 It is your personal responsibility to take out comprehensive insurance cover for cancellation, personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses and evacuation expenses before you travel. The Company strongly recommends your insurance also covers cancellation, personal liability and loss of personal property. Please check that the insurance covers all of the activities that you are going to be participating in. Some policies exclude certain adventure activities. This should be arranged at the time of payment of the deposit and will, in certain circumstances, cover you against loss of deposit or cancellation fees from the date of confirmation of your booking, as shown in the insurance policy. The Company cannot be held responsible for your failure to take out appropriate insurance. You also agree to indemnify us against all third-party claims, actions, damages and remedies which may be brought against us in respect of your participation in the tour.

 

  1. DATA PROTECTION STATEMENT

8.1 In order to process your trip booking, The Company will need to use personal information for you and other travelers included in your booking. This personal information may include each traveler’s name, address, phone number, email address, passport number, credit/debit card number and sensitive information such as health, medical, dietary, mobility, religious or other special requirements. This personal information may be passed on to other suppliers of your travel arrangements in addition to public authorities (such as customs and immigration), security and credit checking organizations, and otherwise as required by law. Similarly, we may also need to provide personal information to contractors who provide services to or for us (e.g., sending mail, processing payments, providing marketing assistance). This may involve sending personal information (including sensitive information) to other countries that may not afford the same level of protection of personal information. The Company may also use the personal information you provide us to review and improve the trips and services that we offer, and to contact you (by post, email and/or telephone) about other trips and services offered by us that you may be interested in.

 

  1. GENERAL

9.1 The information on our website is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time the website was last updated but we cannot guarantee that any item or amenity mentioned will be available especially where The Company has no direct control over it.  The Company will make comparable alternative itinerary and hotel arrangements in these cases.

9.2 Packages and tours are prepared by The Company after analyzing and deciding which routes are the most ideal.

9.3 Peruvian cuisine is based on rice and beans prepared with vegetables, beef, pork, lamb, poultry, such as ducks and chickens, among others. The Company will try to do our best to accommodate traveler’s with special dietary needs or food allergies or restrictions however we cannot guarantee that all restaurants and hotels will be able to adhere the special requests or meet all traveler’s needs.

9.4 The Company will strive to provide a safe, enjoyable and memorable travel experience for all travelers. The Company welcomes travelers with special needs or disabilities. However, please note the following: travelers are required to advise the Company, in advance, of any physical, medical or other special needs that require accommodation.  All guests must ensure they are medically and physically fit for travel. The Company may impose safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of the trip. The Company may also exclude an individual from participating in a trip or an activity if that individual’s participation poses a direct threat to health or safety.

9.5 The Company does not provide personal devices (such as wheelchairs, hearing aids or prescription eye glasses) or services of a personal nature (such as pushing a wheelchair or assistance in eating, assisting with luggage, toileting or dressing,). A companion capable of providing such assistance must accompany any traveler who requires services of a personal nature.

9.6 The Company does not employ medical personnel. Any necessary medical attention will be provided by a local facility at the traveler’s expense. The Company is not responsible or liable for any losses or costs incurred as a result of medical services obtained while on a trip, or for the quality of the care or services received.

9.7 Travelers should be aware some tours include rough terrain, extensive walking over cobblestone streets, uneven pavement, steps and locations & overnight accommodations which may not be easily accessible or accessible by wheelchair. The Company cannot guarantee disability access or accommodations for travelers.

9.8 Travelers are required to carry their own luggage to airport transportation service and also to their rooms, there may be times travelers required to carry their luggage far distances & up many flights of stairs with no assistance.

9.9 The Company may, in its sole discretion, decline the booking of any traveler or remove any traveler who cannot comply or refuses to comply with the Company’s terms and conditions. The Company is not responsible for any costs incurred in the event a traveler is removed from a tour. Travelers agree not to hold the Company or any of its related entities liable for any actions taken under these terms and conditions.

9.10 There may be times when the tour guide(s) has to make a decision in your best interest or the best interests of their group. You agree to comply with the authority and decisions of the tour guide(s) and the Peruvian laws. If you do not so comply or if, in the tour guide(s) opinion, you are not compatible with the general enjoyment and well-being of other members on the tour or the smooth operation of the vacation itself, we reserve the right to refuse to let you continue with the tour. We do not tolerate the possession or carriage of illegal or restricted substances (drugs). Furthermore you agree that your fellow travelers and any tour guide has the right to travel/work in a safe environment. Any threats to their safety, well-being or inappropriate behavior by you, whether verbal or physical, will be taken extremely seriously and may result in the immediate termination of your vacation. In either event, you will be responsible for your own repatriation and related costs and have no claims against us.

9.11 You are responsible for any costs incurred as a result of damage or excess cleaning fees related to your accommodation. You are advised to immediately report any pre-existing damage in your room to hotel staff as soon as it is discovered.

9.12 Where the traveler occupies a bus seat fitted with a safety belt, neither the operator or service providers, agents or co-operating organizations shall be liable for any illness, injury or death or any loss or damages or claims whatsoever arising from any accident or incident, if the safety belt is not being worn at the time of the accident or incident.

9.13 Tour Guides or Representatives may take photographs and films of you while you are on vacation and that these may be used in our Group brochures and/or advertising or publicity material without obtaining any further consent or payment in respect of such photographs and/or films.

9.14 Should you have a complaint in respect of the vacation, you should inform the tour guide(s) during the course of the vacation and if the matter cannot be resolved after the guide’s best endeavors to do so during the vacation, your complaint should be e-mailed to us as soon as is reasonably possible after the vacation but within 42 days thereof so that your complaint can be investigated. Any claims made after the 42 day period will not be considered by us. Please provide your full name, related tour dates and home address so that we are able to connect your complaint to our records.
