On this tour…

Enjoy an evening in Lima before travelling to the southern region of Paracas & Nazca. Travel to Arequipa to experience the city, the Colca Canyon and Condor’s Cross, followed by another side trip to Titicaca Lake, including Taquile Island and the Floating Islands of Uros before going to Cusco, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Machu Picchu.


 Arrival in Lima

Upon arriving in Lima, you will be picked up by a member of our team who we will safely drive you to your hotel for the night. Depending on your arrival time you are free to explore Lima on your own.

 Travel to Paracas

Early in the morning travel by bus south along the ‘South Panamerican Highway’ sightseeing the Peruvian coast, until you reach Paracas. On the bus you will be provided with a light snack and a beverage. When you arrive, you will have free time to rest, find a restaurant to have dinner and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

 Ballestas Island

Boat day! Early in the morning you will be transferred to a dock on the Paracas Peninsula located on the Pacific Ocean, where you will board a speed boat that will take you to the Ballestas Islands National Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary, where you can see Otters, Sea Lions, Penguins, and more. Here you will also have the opportunity to see the “Candelabro”, a mysterious gigantic figure in the sand similar to the Nazca Lines. In the afternoon, you will travel by bus to your hotel in Nazca. On the bus you will be provided with a light snack and a beverage.

 Nazca Lines – Travel to Arequipa

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Nazca airport to board a small plane that will take you on a 35-minute flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines. In the afternoon, we will take a 6 ½ hour bus ride to continue your journey to the bus station in Arequipa. Here you transfer to another bus which will transfer you to your hotel in Arequipa for the night, arriving around 6:30 pm. The rest of the night is yours to enjoy the city or rest.

 Arequipa City Tour
Get ready for a full morning walking tour of Arequipa that will showcase the architecture and beauty of the city. On this tour you will visit the Arequipa Main Square and the Cathedral, La Compania Church, an ancient Jesuit temple and Santa Catalina Convent, which has been preserved for over four centuries. After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel where you will have the rest of the day to further explore the city at your leisure. Optional: Start the city tour in the afternoon and have the morning free.

 Colca Canyon
Early in the morning, depart on a wonderful 4-hour bus trip to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world (3,400 mts.). On the way you will travel across the Pampa Cañahuas in the Aguada Blanca & Agua Blanca National Reserve. Upon arrival in the village of Chivay minutes from the Colca Valley you will be transferred to your lodge where we recommend you rest and get used to the altitude (3,656 meters). If you are feeling well, take a walk in the village and surrounding area or visit the hot springs to take a relaxing bath before returning to the lodge for the night.

 Condor’s Cross – Arequipa
Early in the morning we will visit “Condor’s Cross”, where the biggest bird in the world usually be seen flying in the sky. Before returning to Arequipa for your final night in Arequipa you will visit several colonial towns and churches of Yanque, Coporaque, Achoma and Maca including enjoying a traditional lunch in a local restaurant.

 Travel to Puno
Early in the morning travel by bus north east through the mountains until you reach Puno, about a 7-hour bus ride. When you arrive, you will have free time to rest, find a restaurant to have dinner and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

 Titicaca Lake - Taquile Islands and Uros Floating Islands
Get ready to spend the day on the lake! Very early in the morning we will take a boat excursion from the Port of Lake Titicaca. During your guided tour you will visit traditional Andean built homes called the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island inhabited by Quechua-speaking natives who have lived there for generations. After enjoying a local buffet lunch on the island of Taquile you will walk through the hills and archaeological sites. In the late afternoon (approx. 5PM) you will return to your hotel in Puno where you will have a free time to enjoy your last night in Puno.

 Travel to Cusco
Get ready for a full day (10-hour) bus trip to Cusco! Along the way, we stop in Ayaviri to visit the impressive Temple of Kalasaya and, Raqchi, where you will visit the spectacular Inca Sanctuary built by the Inca Pachacutec and dedicated to the great Incan god Viracocha. From there you will pass by Huacarpay Lake, offering spectacular views of the mountains reflected in its calm waters. Then you will visit the pre-Inca Citadel of Pikillacta and the beautiful town of Andahuaylillas where we will visit the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas before enjoying a delicious regional lunch buffet in the town of Sicuani. By late evening you will arrive in Cusco to check into your hotel.

 Cusco City Tour
Your 4-hour Cusco City Tour will start at 2PM with a visit to the Cathedral of Cusco and the Temple of the Sun (Koricancha). Into the evening you will continue your tour of the surrounding archaeological sites by hopping on a bus that will make stops at Sacsayhuaman, which has the best lookout of the city, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

 Sacred Valley of The Incas
After breakfast at your hotel, get ready for a full-day bus trip (10-hour) to the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas where you will see the small town of Pisaq and its typical handicraft market. Today you will also enjoy a delicious, traditional Peruvian buffet lunch in Urubamba before visiting Ollantayambo’s archaeological sites. You will return to Cusco for the night via Chinchero.

 Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Town (Overnight)
Early in the morning (5AM) you will be picked up by a bus that will take you from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. Here you will catch a train through the mountains to Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Town. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the area by hiking up the mountain at your own pace or taking the shuttle to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary for a preview of where your tour will start on Day 5, relaxing in Aguas Calientes Hot Springs or exploring the cafes and shops in town before checking into your hotel for the night. Optional: Combine Day 13 and Day 14.

 Machu Picchu
This is the day to tick an item off your bucket list! In the morning you will take a shuttle bus (departs every 30 minutes) up the mountain to the entrance of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary where you will meet your Tour Guide. After your 2-hour guided tour you will be free to explore this magnificent Inka city. When you are ready, take a shuttle back down the mountain to further explore Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Town before heading to the train station (approx. 4PM) to return to Cusco for the night.

 Travel to Lima - City Tour
In the morning, you will be picked up by a member of our team who we will safely drive you to the Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, another member of our team will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After freshening up, you will be picked up at 2 pm for your guided city tour of Lima. The tour includes visits to the Huaca Pucllana, and considered by the Incas as ñaupallaqta, a “sacred village”. We will show you the Historical Center: Paseo de la República, San Martín Square, Main Square, Government Palace, Basilica Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, City Hall Palace, the old streets with colonial mansions and Moorish-style balconies. We will visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental assembly of colonial art in America.The monks’ Choir and Library; the Vestry, with paintings by Zurbaran and Rivera; Main Cloister decorated with Sevillian tiles from the 16th century; Moorish arches, and The Catacombs, underground crypts from the colonial times. The tour continues through the more traditional Residential Areas: El Olivar in San Isidro, Miraflores’ Central Park, and Larco Mar which has become a distinctive symbol of modern Lima.
 Transfer to Lima Airport
Enjoy a buffet breakfast at your hotel before a member of our team takes you to the Lima airport at a pre-arranged time.
